Handling: ”Rachel var länge hemligt förälskad i sin bästa vän Henry Jones. Dagen innan hon flyttade från Gracetown gömde hon ett kärleksbrev i Henrys favoritbok, i hans föräldrars bokhandel. Rachel väntade. Men Henry hörde aldrig av sig. Tre år senare känslomässigt bedövad efter att hennes bror omkommit i en drunkningsolycka återvänder Rachel till Gracetown. Hon ska arbeta ett år innan hon går om sista året i skolan och får jobb i bokhandeln, där hon nu tvingas arbeta med Henry, som hon helst aldrig velat träffa igen. Henry är glad över att Rachel är tillbaka och förstår inte varför hon är så kylig gentemot honom. Men så småningom börjar de komma varandra närmare igen. Livet går inte att styra och ibland är det outhärdligt. Men tänk om det finns ord, kärlek och andra chanser som gör att allt trots allt har mening?”
Problemet för mig var karaktärerna. Henry och Rachel är två personer som båda känns så naiva att man bara vill ruska om dem. Rachel gömde ett kärleksbrev i Henrys favoritbok i brevbilioteket och när han inte svarade så bestämmer hon sig för att vara sur och bitter, vilket jag inte förstår för att vad som helst kunde ju ha hänt med brevet, orsaker som gjorde att han inte fick det. Eller varför inte fråga honom?

Läst i augusti 2018
Kommentar: Det märktes på läsningen att semestern var slut och man var åter i vardagen. Månaden började bra, men mot slutet kom jag in i en lässvacka och kunde inte läsa alls. Vi hoppas på en bättre månad i september. Denna läsmånad var inget enastående, men kul att ha läst Maria Lang för första gången.

Det fanns flera vändningar i boken som höll spänningen uppe, och jag kunde inte lista ut vem mördaren var. Vissa saker var väl lite otrovärdiga i boken, men på det stora hela var det inget som störde.
