Efter succ\u00e9n med Evelyn Hugos sju \u00e4kta m\u00e4n var nog de flesta av oss v\u00e4ldigt taggade p\u00e5 Jenkins Reids nya bok! Det \u00e4r bara sv\u00e5rt att sl\u00e5 en s\u00e5 bra bok och \u00e4ven om handligen \u00e4r totalt annorlunda i Daisy Jones s\u00e5 funkade det inte riktigt f\u00f6r mig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boken \u00e4r skriven som ett intervjutranskript, lite som att se eller lyssna p\u00e5 en dokument\u00e4r. Formatet gjorde det l\u00e4ttl\u00e4st, men jag tycker inte man f\u00e5r riktigt samma detaljrikedom i en ber\u00e4ttelse best\u00e5ende av bara dialoger. Boken gjorde sig antagligen b\u00e4ttre som ljudbok \u00e4n tryckt bok (f\u00f6rutsatt att karakt\u00e4rerna hade olika r\u00f6ster, annars skulle det nog vara sv\u00e5rt att h\u00e4nga med vem som pratar). Tyv\u00e4rr tyckte jag boken var mestadels tr\u00e5kig och jag tappade intresset f\u00f6r storyn allt f\u00f6r ofta. De gr\u00e4lade om lyrics, om musiken och om bandets sammans\u00e4ttning, man s\u00f6gs inte med i handligen utan mest tittade p\u00e5 fr\u00e5n avst\u00e5nd. Ett band med flera stora egon, som m\u00e5nga musiker kan vara. Vad \u00e4r nytt?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jag fortsatte iallafall att l\u00e4sa, ifall det skulle byggt upp till n\u00e5gon sorts intressant uppl\u00f6sning eller h\u00e4ndelse. Den slutade lika platt som den b\u00f6rjade. F\u00f6r att inte bara n\u00e4mna det jag inte gillade med boken s\u00e5 b\u00f6r det n\u00e4mnas att det \u00e4nd\u00e5 var lite uppfriskande att l\u00e4sa ett helt nytt format (intervjutranskript) och att Jenkins Reid gjorde vad hon kunde med ett s\u00e5dant format tyckte jag. Det \u00e4r ju ganska sv\u00e5rt att f\u00e5 en riktigt fyllig historia med enbart dialoger. Karakt\u00e4rerna blev f\u00f6rv\u00e5nansv\u00e4rt tydliga och starka, speciellt Daisy Jones. Lite h\u00e4rligt 70-talsk\u00e4nsla fick man ocks\u00e5 fr\u00e5n boken. G\u00e5ng p\u00e5 g\u00e5ng kom jag p\u00e5 mig sj\u00e4lv att fundera vilket ”riktigt” band som skildras, n\u00e5got som kanske st\u00f6rde l\u00e4sningen lite. Den k\u00e4nns lite l\u00f6st baserad p\u00e5 Fleetwood Mac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
